Art is Fun Again

Dear Sue, I wanted to write and thank you for my son's recent art class. As a preschooler, he was very enthusiastic about "doing art" but he seemed to lose that in kindergarten art class. I'm glad to see you were able to reinfuse that love of creativity with your class. I was very impressed by the results I saw him bring home, and how he described what he used (and also his newly gained knowledge of art materials and how they produce different results).

His work was so much more creative and freer than what he produced at school. I'm glad he thinks art is fun again. Thank you for an enjoyable experience for my son.

Creating Art From Old Books

Each year, the Mark Twain Library has a summer reading program for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade. Our theme for this summer is "Be Creative @ the Library".

A belated thank you for your wonderful workshop on creating art from old books. The children who participated had a great time working with all the materials you brought. It was a kick to see the different ways in which they pursued their projects; they were clearly having lots of fun!

Thanks again for your willingness to lead one of our "Art Adventures" this summer. Your support of the library is much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Mary Hoskinson-Dean, Children's and Teen Librarian

Recent HS Graduate's Memories

Susan, I will always remember art classes after school with you and the summer lessons I took at your studio. Thank you so much for guiding me and motivating me as a young artist. Your encouragement has helped me to find my passion and for that I am very grateful. I hope that Paint, Draw and More! continues to bring the same creative energy into the lives of young artists for many more years.

Sincerely, Max (Now Attending Boston University, Majoring in Graphic Design and Advertising)

Happy Weaving Student

Susan is wonderful! I’ve taken two semesters of weaving loom classes with her at her studio. She truly is gifted at her craft. She individualizes her instruction for each student, is kind, patient, dedicated, and very organized.  She even let me borrow the loom for an additional time period and gave me two mini lessons at no extra charge, when I missed several scheduled classes in a row. I’ll definitely be coming back!!! 5 stars

Wonderful Art Center

Georgetown School of Arts is a wonderful art center for our area. Susan Jackson is a talented, passionate professional who takes the time to teach her craft to the community. I have been taking weaving classes for over a year and her humor, compassion and generosity make the school a place that I am excited to visit every week. Thank you for providing a place to explore my creative side and bring out the best in all I do. 5 stars!!
